Sand for Coating Coating buildings with various compounds is very common in Greece, Traditionally, a mixture of lime, cement and quarry sand is used for coating. With the use of finely grinded marble and white cement as an addition or replacement to the above, Greek builders achieve the traditional “Greek white house” finish. In most quarries in Greece, sand for coating compounds is often regarded as a second class product and is not produced properly. The result is the presence of parasitic admixtures such as clay, which, while making the compound more workable during construction, greatly decrease its strength during its service. Our sand is free of any admixture and the limestone contained in it works better with the other ingredients of the compound, thus offering a more durable coating for the customer’s building. |
